Your Wedding Day -- Your wedding day is very special, your chance to wear something totally romantic or ultra sexy. A traditional corset can help you achieve that perfect wasp waist you've dreamt about. A corset accentuates your bust and hips and works well with under most traditional wedding dresses with a fitted bodice. Corsets can of course also be worn over a dress as a bodice or in the evening teamed with a formal skirt for that delicious curvy look.. ( See jaquard corset, and brocade corset )

Remember the outline is all important when considering which corset to wear under your bridal or evening gown , choose simple designs rather than lacy ones. See hourglass satin corset and classic line corset. Low cut gowns and brides with amble busts are better wearing an underbust corset with or without a bra depending on the cut and style of the dress. See satin underbust and waist cincher. Alternatively our low back corset may be suitable. Remember all our corsets lace down the back. The beautiful lace trimmed corsets can of course be worn over dresses or kept for the wedding night.

Most of our corsets come in traditional white, some also come in Ivory. We also have corsets in baby pink and baby blue, very pale pastels suitable for pale coloured gowns. As you'll be wearing your corset all day, try to have a few practice sessions to get used to it and dont overtighten. We also have a selection of made to measure lingerie corsets, these are on the lingerie pages as they are not waist reduction corsets.

When ordering a corset ensure your dress allows room for one, a corset consists of 2 layers of fabric and boning plus the lacing in the back, so it is thicker than traditional lingerie.

Most of our corsets have front busks. Busks, for those of you who have not heard the term, are metal clasps that close the centre front of a corset. A corset busk consists of two long pieces of steel, one with steel knobs and the other one steel loops/eyes. The busk pieces are sewn into the corset on either side of the centre front, lacing is still used in the back or sides but the busk allows getting into and out of the corset by oneself.

Is a corset comfortable?
A correctly fitted corset should fit snugly all over, without being uncomfortably tight; if you wish to reduce your waist, lace your corset slightly tighter each time you wear it. A corset should be ordered 2-4 inches smaller than you natural waist size (relaxed natural waist size, not pulled in!)

How should I care for my corset?
Provided it is properly cared for a corset will last a long time , always have professionally dry cleaned , dont overtighten a corset that is too small for you, you will damage the bones. Store in a dry place, rolled or folded between the bones. Do not store heavy objects on top of your corset.

Do you make larger sizes? Our standard corsets go up to a 34". The measurement is a waist measurement and would therefor fit a natural waist upto 38", the equivelent of a UK size 24. Larger sizes are available to special order , but an additional fee is payable to cover custom measurements.

Do they take long to make? Typically you should allow 8 weeks for all our corsets ( as they are made to order). Please allow for your fitting dates when placing an order and remember if yuu ned to exchange for size the replacement will take time to make. Telephone us 0207 485 0365 if you need something urgently, we do keep some stock.
